Abstract
Localized circumscribed bony growth on the cortical plate of bone are called exostosis. These are relatively common, and they include the torus palatinus, torus mandibularis, and bony overgrowths or out growths of the alveolar ridges of the maxilla and mandible.
Radiograms show diffuse radiopaque shadows within the jaw bones: the radiopacity depends on the site and degree of calcification of the growth.
Microscopic sections show a mass of dense normal bone or a peripheral layer of cortical bone with a central area of marrow and bone trabecule.
If exostosis are removed, they do not recur.
This is to report a case of the bilateral exostosis on the buccal side of mandible. In this case, we performed the complete removal of exostosis.
